PRODUCTS TO USE WITH SENSI-TAK SELECT

In this post, we’re going to run through products that work perfectly with our newest hypoallergenic tape release, Walker Signature Sensi-Tak Select. We’ll go through a typical install process so that you can read all about it in action.

 

Prep Products

 

 

Before you do anything, prep your client’s hair with a wash. We love using Bond Breaker Shampoo to rinse away any residual stickiness from previous installs. It also helps gently scrub and exfoliate the scalp. Keep in mind that this shampoo isn’t for daily use; it’s best used before or after installs.

 

Next, give your client’s scalp a quick wipe down with 99% Alcohol to clean up any residual oils and prep their skin for bonding.

 

Before applying the tape, apply one to two layers of Max Hold Sport to the scalp. Let it dry completely, then apply Sensi-Tak Select. This product helps give your clients the longest hold times while also providing a protective barrier against irritation. The main benefit of Max Hold Sport is that it gives whatever adhesive product you choose to use an immediate hold.

 

The Install

 

 

Now it’s time for the exciting part: applying Walker Signature Sensi-Tak Select! If you’re using tape rolls, peel the tape from the roll and cut a piece off. If you’re using straight strips or contours, peel off the scored liner. Place the adhesive side towards the unit and try to avoid touching the adhesive. When you’re ready to apply the unit to your client’s head, remove the tabs.

 

 

We recommend one last quick step before placing the unit. Spray a few pumps of Just-Rite Positioning Spray over the tape to help briefly delay the bond between the adhesive on the tape and the hair system.  It’s perfect for making minor placement adjustments and the amount you spray onto the unit will determine the amount of time available to adjust the unit.

 

Finally, you can apply the unit to your client’s head and watch them love their hairstyle. If your client’s hair leans towards the drier side, or just seems to need a bit more moisture from time to time, try out our Leave-In Conditioner. It’s perfect for defrizzing, detangling, moisturizing, and rejuvenating both bio and alternative hair.

 

Removal

 

The removal process is just as easy as the install. This is one of only three other tapes that we classify as very low residue, so when it’s time to remove your client’s hair system, grab one of these oil-based removers for an easy takedown. All of these citrus scented choices are great for clients that have sensitive skin. They work fast so that you can move onto your next step quickly.

 

Walker Signature Remover is our fastest sensitive-skin solvent. It leaves a high residue, but has the worthwhile trade-off of a fast breakdown speed. It’s also medical grade. S3 is a sensitive skin solvent that leaves a high residue and has a medium breakdown speed. Action is our fastest skin-safe solvent. It has a fast breakdown speed and leaves a medium residue behind.
